Happy Wednesday Fashionistas!
As you may have seen last week, Poor Little Rich Girl will be moving to an entirely online presence as of the end of October. As part of that move, we are "relaunching" our blog to not only bring you real-world styling advice but open a dialogue with our readers to address the issues that you want to hear about.
What does that mean exactly?
Twice per week we will be helping you look your best and accent your best features.
We will tell you what should be in your must-have wardrobe.
We will show you how to style various common pieces for any situation.
We will show you how to dress to look 10 pounds lighter (who wouldn't want to know how to do that?!?!)
We will take your questions and do polls to ensure what we are talking about resonates with you.
We will feature YOU. We will show you how outfits look on real people. We will stop you on the street if we love your outfit and ask you to tell us why you love it and how you pulled it together.
We will keep you up to date on the latest trends.
We will build each other up and create a community of fashion lovers who don't need to spend a million to look like they did.
Sound fun? Let's get started.
Today it's all about the jean jacket.
Jean jackets may conjure images of acid wash jeans and sky-high bangs but they are actually one of the staples we suggest that everyone has in their closet. Keep reading and you'll see why.....
Let's start with the star of the show:
[caption id="attachment_2716" align="aligncenter" width="300"] This JCrew jacket (with the tags still on!) is a cotton blend with a bit of stretch so it's "breathable". Size small, it fits like a small/medium. If you are a size small you could definitely do layers underneath. Retails for $128. We are selling it for $65.99[/caption]
Look #1: Date night! For this look we paired the jacket with a flirty strapless silk georgette dress from Theory, size 4, NWT, $169.99. Add a bit of sparkle with a statement necklace ($13.99) and some animal print pumps. (Pictured are a pair of Ursula Mascaro's, priced at $66.99). Add a finishing touch with a little black clutch (ours is $9.99).
[caption id="attachment_2710" align="aligncenter" width="263"] This look is great for date night or cocktails with the girls. Who says you can't wear cute little dresses once the nights get cooler?[/caption]
Look #2: Office to Happy hour: For this look, we paired the jean jacket with a silk-blend cashmere sweater (size S) from Talbots ($37.99), and a pencil skirt (size 6) from Ann Taylor ($35.99). We made the whole thing pop with a splash of red in the form of a vintage St. John belt (size 32) ($33.50) and a Burberry handbag ($262.99). To finish the whole look we added a pair of Steve Madden black patent leather pumps ($5.00).

Look #3: Comfort meets style. To complete this look we paired our trusty jean jacket with a pair of Old Navy Rock Star (size 4) pants ($12.99), an XS Gap sweater ($14.99) and an Eileen Fisher scarf ($22.99). We finished the look with a pair of size 8.5 Coach boots ($165.99) and a Brighton leather Crossbody bag (64.99).
[caption id="attachment_2711" align="aligncenter" width="196"] Mom-on-the-go. We envision this as your weekend warrior outfit. Football games, pumpkin patch and all things fall. We've got you covered.[/caption]
So there you have it. Three looks based on one central piece. Happy shopping!
